Music at South Church
Chancel ChoirSince its founding in 1842, the South Church of New Britain has
had a heritage of excellence in music, both in a series of long-term, distinguished
musicians as well as great instruments. The adult choir, now called the Chancel Choir, has
also been of high merit. This auditioned, volunteer choir is open to members of the
parish and the community, with a core of professional soloists/section leaders to guide it
along vocally and musically. The Chancel Choir rehearses each Thursday evening from 7:30
to 9:30 and each Sunday at 9:35 in the choir room.
