MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of The Main Street Singers is to provide the opportunity for children in greater New Britain to participate in a nonsectarian treble-voice choir that strives to achieve artistic excellence while fostering a life-long love of music and singing. The Main Street Singers welcomes boys and girls of all races, religions, economic and ethnic backgrounds in grades three through eight to create an artistic community.

This is a community-based organization, in residence at South Church, welcoming children of all races, religions, economic and ethnic backgrounds.

GOALS
?   Offer third grade through eighth grade children with musical potential the opportunity to experience a high caliber treble-voice choral program.
?   Make a special effort to include children who have natural musical talent but limited opportunity.
?   Develop confidence, self-discipline, respect and self-expression through the pursuit of excellence in music and performance.
?   Explore a diversity of musical styles.
?   Provide our community with the opportunity to experience children's choral music at its finest.

PURPOSE - The purpose of the choir is to foster the children’s musical growth while recognizing and understanding the unique circumstances and abilities of each child. The Main Street Singers sing in a wide range of music styles in preparation for performances and other musical activities and adventures. The goal is to create a community of children’s voices that will inspire both those who participate in the group and those who hear them sing.
